Workshops

Below you can find short information about three workshops that are going to take place on Saturday 8.11.2008.

Everybody will have the possibility to participate in two of them.

Workshop I.

Scriptorium. The book as an experience

In this workshop participants will play games inspired by ancient and medieval letters. They will be asked to actively experience various activities – card games, creative games, story making or role playing. This workshop shows teachers how to have fun with history of communication.

Ms. Klára Smolíková teaches secondary and college students and teachers of children. She contributed to the establishment of a new department of book studies for librarian students in the Secondary vocational school of commerce, services and crafts in the town of Tabor five years ago. In Prague she teaches a course of media literacy at the Faculty of Education. She writes methodical materials, worksheets and textbooks and she is an author of several children books.

Workshop II.

Using ICT tools in European project

My name is Pavla Sabatkova and I work as a teacher of English and an eTwinning ambasador. The aim of my workshop is to introduce blog as a suitable ICT tool in European project. All the participants will practise using blog to become familiar with editing some text, pictures or videos in the blog. I would like each participant to be able to create his/her own simple blog at the end of the workshop.

Workshop III.

What can library do for you?

There is no discussion about the fact, that libraries are very useful institutions, because they offer connection to many different sources of information. But what they really offer to schools, teachers and pupils/students? Some examples of activities which libraries can do to help you in your work are content of this workshop. We will try to define different types of libraries and focus on their services, especially for schools.

Lenka Hanzlíková is a graduated librarian, who has been working in library since year 1996. She is working at the Municipal Library of Prague (www.mlp.cz) on different positions since 1997. Her latest position is Head of the Communication Department, but she is interested in events and activities for children (not only „school“ children) in libraries for a long time.
